hi, i'm an adobe illustrator user(newbie)i'm very curious about vexel so i'm googling for go it.i found the vexel.net tutorial and the site bring me to [link] and ur tutorial is on top of page.so i choose it.
i wanna ask shall i?:
1.why you using vexel not using vector are it very simple/light in weigt?
2.why not using painting brush like general PS user.the result is look similar right?or vexel is easy to do?

sorry if i'm too much to ask&thanks

1. I started vexeling mainly because I just had Photoshop. You can do vectors on Photoshop also, but I found using those shapes more difficult to work with, mostly because they never did what I wanted them to do. :)

2. Using the brush may be easier, I suppose, but I find using the pen tool to be more precise and cleaner looking. Plus, I would need a really steady hand if I wanted to use the brush tool.

1.mmm..i see. i dont know how you make it vexel very real;like in Song Hye Kyo (she's act. in Endless Love is the finest one),Resist,My Headphones..all seems had lot patience and time to do it.may i know what is the first tutorial you read at beginning to learn vexel?

2.yes.the biggest problem when i tried learn painting with mouse is make it its steady, it's no problem when we painting color in a object but...when we meet the edge the brush result is not sleek so commonly i'm using erase brush with 3-9 px for clean it,but still same. i think vexel techique is answer how to make its sleek..

1. The first tutorial I ever learned from was from Shaz's tutorial (her deviantart name is ChewedKandi), but the method she used was much different from what I am doing since she worked with opacities and I used the option of separate layers. I don't think she has it up anymore since it was from years back...

oh..i've been see ChewedKandi DA,when i was search AI tutorial in SmashingMagazine(before i meet your DA).but you make your own vexel very great too although with different technique.since yesterday i'm wait for ur replied btw & thanks for sharing;waiting four ur next vexel art!(:
